I realize we have moved on to our earlier ancestors, but I'm slow in responding to query re other Hester Ann's in the family.
Rev. Dr. William Roger's daughter Delilah Rogers Monday, wife of Samuel, named one of her daughters Hester Ann.
From census records, Hester Ann was born about 1836. She married Thomas Pierce on May 22, 1857 in Speedwell, J.P William McNew officiated. Thomas was a 2nd Lt. in Co B 1st TN Infantry. He died during service from disease on January 17, 1863 and is buried in Green Cemetery, Campbell County.
Hester's widow's pension file contains an affidavit regarding their marriage date of a W. Cawood, Clerk of Claiborne County dated 1880. Is he the same Cawood involved in the murder a few years prior? and he's still on the bench? Interesting. Hester's file states they were married at home of Samuel Monday.
Hester Ann and Thomas had one son, James Fletcher Pierce b. January 18, 1860. The midwife at the birth of James was Susan McNew (wife of Elisha? Aunt to Hester Ann?).
According to the pension file, Hester was dropped from the roll on November 4, 1895 due to death. Her burial site is unknown.

Thomas Pierce was a brother of my great great grandfather Peter Pierce. Thomas was born about 1816. Marriage to Hester Ann was his second. Thomas and his first wife were living next door to Samuel and Delilah Monday, and 3 year old Hester Ann, in Claiborne's 1840 census.
